Risk Factors for Parenchymal Hematoma in Hemorrhagic Transformation After Intra-Arterial Thrombectomy
This retrospective study of 296 acute ischemic stroke patients undergoing intra-arterial thrombectomy identified older age and severe white matter hyperintensities as independent risk factors for hemorrhagic transformation. Among patients who developed hemorrhagic transformation, atrial fibrillation, lower total cholesterol, and elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate were associated with more severe parenchymal hematoma.
