Serum Extracellular Vesicle MicroRNA Profiles as Biomarkers for Ischemic Stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack

This study identified altered microRNA profiles in serum extracellular vesicles that distinguish ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack patients from controls, with let-7b-5p and let-7f-5p emerging as key diagnostic markers. Mechanistic analysis suggests these miRNAs regulate FOXO1 and BDNF pathways involved in ischemic injury, supporting their potential clinical utility for stroke diagnosis and severity stratification.
