Analgesics and Adjuvant Medications: Effects on Psychiatric Comorbidities in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
This observational study of 1,029 CRPS patients examined how different pain medications affect psychiatric outcomes, finding no significant differences between opioid and non-opioid analgesics for depression or anxiety, but showing anticonvulsants were associated with higher risk of psychiatric comorbidities compared to antidepressants. The results suggest antidepressants may offer greater psychiatric benefits for CRPS patients while highlighting the need for individualized treatment planning.
