Multidimensional evaluation of the Atalante exoskeleton as an assistive device for individuals with complete paraplegia: a prospective longitudinal study

This prospective study evaluated the Atalante self-balancing exoskeleton in 13 adults with chronic complete thoracic spinal cord injury through a 6-week intensive training program. The evaluation examined safety metrics, technical usability, patient-reported comfort and perceived safety, and physiological responses to exoskeleton-assisted walking.

Validity of the Trunk Assessment Scale and Trunk Control Test for Spinal Cord Injury

This study evaluated the criterion and construct validity of two trunk function assessment tools (TASS and TCT-SCI) in 30 individuals with spinal cord injury, finding moderate correlation between them and establishing cut-off scores for identifying ambulatory capacity. Results support the validity of both scales for evaluating trunk function in SCI populations, with TASS scores ≥26 and TCT-SCI scores ≥18 indicating ambulatory potential.

Resilience and Well-Being Among Persons with Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders

This cross-sectional study of 298 individuals with spinal cord injury (predominantly veterans) identified resilient personality profiles using Big Five personality clustering and examined how positive psychology variables mediate the relationship between resilience and well-being. Resilient individuals reported significantly higher psychological flexibility, use of personal strengths, and health-related quality of life compared to nonresilient counterparts, with path models demonstrating these psychological resources explain the resilience-well-being relationship.

Does tele-exercise training for tetraplegia meet spinal cord injury-specific physical activity guidelines? A 7-month longitudinal study

This longitudinal study evaluated whether remote exercise training in 20 individuals with tetraplegia met established spinal cord injury (SCI) physical activity guidelines over 27 weeks. The tele-exercise program exceeded moderate-intensity recommendations but fell short of vigorous-intensity guidelines, with 45.1% adherence rates and gender-based differences in training load achievement.
