A Network Analysis of Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder in 463 Patients From a Psychiatric Hospital
This study used network analysis on clinician-administered interviews with 463 psychiatric patients to examine how panic disorder, agoraphobia, and generalized anxiety disorder symptoms interconnect. Results identified two distinct symptom clusters: panic-agoraphobia (with tightly linked physiological symptoms and catastrophic cognitions) and GAD (anchored by worry control difficulty), suggesting these conditions reflect both separate and overlapping symptom systems.
