This study analyzed funding for ADHD across 72 South African medical schemes and found that ADHD is not recognized as a prescribed minimum benefit, resulting in inconsistent and inadequate coverage. The research highlights the need for standardized funding models or formal classification of ADHD as a priority health condition to improve patient access to treatment.
