Evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in adolescents with depression: a scoping review
This scoping review synthesizes evidence on assessment methods and interventions for sleep disturbances in depressed adolescents, analyzing 26 peer-reviewed studies published 2000-2024. The review examines evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), mindfulness interventions, melatonin use, and psychoeducation, with CBT-I demonstrating consistent efficacy in addressing the bidirectional relationship between mood and sleep disorders.
