Neurofilament light chain plasma levels in major depressive disorder: a brief research report

This study measured plasma neurofilament light chain (NfL) levels using advanced SIMOA technology in 15 major depressive disorder patients and 15 healthy controls to investigate whether NfL is altered in depression. The researchers found no significant difference in NfL plasma levels between groups and no correlation with depression severity measures, though age showed positive correlation with NfL in both groups.
