Impaired emotional multimodal integration in inhibition of return in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder

This study examined how children with ADHD process combined audiovisual emotional information compared to typically developing peers using a discrimination task. Children with ADHD showed impaired audiovisual emotional integration across conditions and abnormal inhibition of return effects, suggesting deficits in both bottom-up and top-down emotional processing pathways.
