Sex education in adolescents with ASD: a qualitative study on the role of parents in the Italian context

This qualitative study explored how Italian parents of autistic adolescents perceive and approach sex education, identifying barriers such as communication difficulties and lack of educational resources. The research calls for developing structured, inclusive sex education programs that actively involve caregivers and address emotional, physical, and regulatory aspects.
