Reduction of CACNA1D-Associated Catatonia Symptoms in an Adolescent With Severe Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Case Report

A case report documents an adolescent with autism spectrum disorder and a CACNA1D gene mutation who experienced reduced catatonia symptoms and self-injurious behavior following electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). This represents the first published case of successful ECT treatment in a patient with CACNA1D mutations, contributing to limited clinical knowledge in this rare genetic presentation.
