High-Intensity Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy for Social Anxiety Disorder: Preliminary Efficacy
A pilot study of 10 participants with social anxiety disorder received an eight-session group therapy combining mindfulness training with cognitive-behavioral techniques including cognitive restructuring and exposure exercises. Participants showed significant improvements in anxiety symptoms, cost/probability biases, depression, and mindfulness skills with large effect sizes, though the small sample and lack of control group require larger studies for confirmation.
