Trends in Antidepressant Prescriptions for Children and Adolescents with Major Depressive Disorder in Japan (2010-2017)

This longitudinal study analyzed antidepressant prescription patterns for pediatric patients with MDD in Japan using health insurance claims data from 2010-2017. Findings showed increasing absolute prescription rates in adolescents (13-18 years), with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors dominating, though the proportion of MDD patients receiving antidepressants actually declined over the period.
