Autistic traits in children with comorbid Specific Learning Disorder and ADHD: cognitive and behavioral predictors

This study of 150 children aged 8-12 years found that those with both Specific Learning Disorder and ADHD showed significantly elevated autistic traits compared to ADHD-only groups, with deficits in motivation, executive function, and motor skills being key predictors. Findings suggest that autistic trait expression in neurodevelopmental comorbidity is associated with underlying motivational, executive, and sensorimotor impairments rather than existing as an independent condition.
