Adapting diabetes education for neurodiverse patients: A COM-B framework analysis of type 1 diabetes and ADHD

This study applies the COM-B behavioral framework to identify how ADHD-related executive dysfunction undermines diabetes self-management and proposes tailored therapeutic education strategies. The authors recommend interdisciplinary care models integrating cognitive screening, simplified routines, technology support, and affirming communication to improve outcomes for patients with co-occurring Type 1 Diabetes and ADHD.
