ADHD, Mental Health, and Weight Loss Outcomes 10 Years After Adolescent Bariatric Surgery

This prospective multicenter study followed 81 adolescents who underwent gastric bypass surgery, finding that 41% had ADHD. At 10-year follow-up, individuals with ADHD reported significantly higher rates of anxiety/depression (91% vs 21%) and experienced return of binge eating despite initial improvement, though weight loss outcomes were comparable at the final assessment.
