Distracted and Connected: Clinical Phenotype and Biotype Markers in Adults with ADHD and Problematic Internet Usage

This study compared 52 adults with ADHD and problematic internet usage (PUI) to 52 matched controls with ADHD alone, using clinical assessments, cognitive testing, and neurophysiological measures. ADHD+PUI patients showed greater inattention, sluggish cognitive tempo, emotional dysregulation, social anxiety, sleep issues, and functional impairment, with problematic social media use being the most common internet-related condition.
