Internet and Social Media Use in Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Meta-Analysis Review

This meta-analysis of 46 studies (42,274 participants) found that autistic individuals show higher rates of problematic internet use compared to non-autistic peers, while a second analysis of 15 studies (7,036 participants) showed autistic individuals are less active on social media platforms. The research provides quantified associations between autism and digital engagement patterns while critically evaluating study quality.
