Comprehension of Meronymy Types in Arabic-Speaking Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

StudiuAutismÎncredere bună

This study compared how 20 Arabic-speaking children with ASD and 20 typically developing children understood four types of meronymy (part-whole relationships) using picture-matching tasks. Children with ASD showed specific difficulties with component, member, and substance meronymy due to challenges in organizational frameworks, group membership concepts, and abstract relationships, while both groups found portion meronymy easier due to its concrete nature.
