This diffusion tensor imaging study analyzed interhemispheric auditory pathway connectivity in 48 autistic and 38 control participants, finding reduced fractional anisotropy and increased radial diffusivity in the ASD group. The structural differences suggest potential microstructural and myelin-related variations that may relate to auditory processing and communication differences in autism.
