Community Modeling Reveals Disrupted Gut Microbial Secretion in Autism Associated With Redox and Neurometabolic Alterations

StudiuAutismÎncredere bună

This study applied computational metabolic modeling to gut microbiome data from autistic and non-autistic children, predicting altered secretion of neuroactive metabolites including increased GABA and reduced riboflavin. Microbiota transfer therapy shifted metabolic profiles toward non-autistic patterns and correlated with reduced autism severity, though the research remains mechanistic and correlational rather than proving causation.
