New psychedelic-like drugs could treat depression without making you trip

UC Davis researchers developed novel compounds that activate serotonin receptors associated with neuroplasticity and mental health in animal models, without producing hallucinations. The work represents early-stage discovery that may eventually inform treatments for depression, PTSD, and addiction.
