Atomoxetine Transfer into Human Milk: Safety Data for Breastfeeding Mothers with ADHD

A pharmacokinetic study of 10 lactating women taking atomoxetine (40-100 mg daily) found minimal drug transfer into breast milk with a relative infant dose of 0.19%, well below the 5% safety threshold for psychoactive medications. No adverse effects were reported in breastfed infants, supporting atomoxetine as a safe treatment option for postpartum ADHD management in lactating women.
