Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation for ADHD in Adults: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
A meta-analysis of seven randomized controlled trials involving 263 adults found that transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) significantly improved self-reported inattention symptoms and objective attentional performance compared to placebo, but showed no significant benefit for hyperactivity/impulsivity symptoms. The treatment was well-tolerated with no significant difference in dropout rates between tDCS and control groups.
