Emotion Knowledge Components Across Autism Spectrum Disorder Subtypes

This study examined emotion knowledge development in 79 children with ASD (categorized by ICD-10 subtypes) and 152 matched controls using the ATEM 3-9 assessment tool. Results showed emotion knowledge deficits were specific to Childhood Autism, while Asperger's Syndrome and Atypical Autism groups performed similarly to controls.
