Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis in Down Syndrome: A Case Report

This case report documents the first known association between Down syndrome and vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC), a rare inflammatory-allergic eye disorder causing photophobia, redness, and corneal damage. The patient was successfully treated with topical cyclosporin immunosuppressant therapy, highlighting the importance of recognizing VKC in Down syndrome patients to differentiate it from keratoconus, another common ocular condition in this population.
