Evaluation of Sleep Difficulties in Egyptian Children with Down Syndrome: A Case-Control Study

This case-control study evaluated sleep-related difficulties in 45 children with Down syndrome compared to 48 typical controls using a translated and validated Arabic questionnaire. Results demonstrated significant sleep problems in the Down syndrome group including obstructive sleep apnea, delayed sleep onset, and frequent nighttime awakenings, with the questionnaire showing good psychometric properties (100% sensitivity, 70.8% specificity).
