Prosodic skills in Spanish-speaking adolescents and young adults with Down syndrome

This study analyzed prosodic abilities (perception and production of speech melody and intonation) in 28 Spanish-speaking teenagers and young adults with Down syndrome compared to 29 peers with other intellectual disabilities matched for age and nonverbal cognition. Participants were assessed using a standardized prosody battery measuring both comprehension and production of communicative functions and linguistic forms.
