Pulse Pressure as a Pathway to Dementia in Adults with Down Syndrome

StudiuSindrom DownÎncredere înaltă

This study of 195 adults with Down syndrome found that higher pulse pressure is associated with white matter hyperintensities and indirectly linked to dementia diagnosis through cerebrovascular changes. The findings suggest that pulse pressure monitoring may be clinically relevant for predicting brain health outcomes in this population, even though frank hypertension is uncommon in Down syndrome.
