Altered sleep architecture in children and adolescents with Down syndrome

This study examined sleep stage patterns in children with Down syndrome using objective sleep monitoring, finding reduced sleep quality and increased wakefulness compared to typical development. Co-occurring autism and severe obstructive sleep apnea were associated with further deterioration in sleep architecture.
