Bilateral floating knee injury in a child with Down syndrome: A case report

A 10-year-old boy with Down syndrome sustained bilateral floating knee injuries (simultaneous femur and tibia fractures on both sides) following a motor vehicle accident. The patient underwent comprehensive preoperative evaluation including cardiac, pulmonary, and hematologic assessments before successful surgical fixation of all fractures, with discussion of how Down syndrome-associated ligamentous laxity may influence recovery.
