Feeding practices and dietary intake in Brazilian children with Down syndrome: A cross-sectional study
This cross-sectional study of 77 Brazilian children with Down syndrome (5-36 months) examined dietary intake and feeding practices using 24-hour dietary recalls and WHO guidelines. The study identified high rates of early weaning (50.6%), low dietary diversity (40.3%), inadequate food consistency (64.9%), and early introduction of ultra-processed foods (76.6%), with significant associations between age and inadequate feeding practices.
