This bibliometric study analyzed 5,082 peer-reviewed papers from 2000–2023 on Down syndrome brain development and neurological pathology, identifying key research trends including Alzheimer's disease, inflammation, and neurogenesis. The analysis reveals that Alzheimer's-related genes and proteins play a central role in Down syndrome neuropathological processes across the lifespan, with the U.S. leading in research output and citations.
