Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is highly prevalent in both tetraplegic and paraplegic spinal cord injury patients and significantly impacts daytime functioning and quality of life, yet remains largely undiagnosed and untreated. Recent research expands understanding beyond tetraplegia to include paraplegia, identifies limitations of screening questionnaires, and explores alternative treatments such as mandibular advancement devices as potential management options.
