Emerging Interventions in Behavioral Addictions: Psychedelics and Neuromodulation—A Narrative Review

This narrative review examines psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and neuromodulation techniques as emerging treatments for behavioral addictions, focusing on their mechanisms in targeting disrupted reward, executive control, and stress regulation networks. The authors synthesize current research on their applications in gambling disorder, gaming disorder, internet use disorder, and compulsive sexual behavior disorder, while identifying research gaps and translational challenges.
