Prevalence of Down Syndrome in Croatia from 2014 to 2024: Epidemiological and Demographic Analysis

This epidemiological study examined Down syndrome prevalence in Croatia over a decade using mandatory national disability registry data, finding prevalence increased from 3.7 to 5.3 per 10,000 population with live birth rates ranging from 1.1 to 1.5 per 1,000. Results showed slight male predominance and identified congenital heart defects as the most common comorbidity, with a mean age of 28 years among affected individuals.
