Respiratory Syncytial Virus Immunoprophylaxis: An Underutilized Preventive Strategy in Children with Down Syndrome

RSV is a major cause of lower respiratory tract infections in young children, with particularly severe consequences for those with Down syndrome due to immune dysregulation, airway anomalies, and congenital heart defects. New RSV prophylactic products have shown high effectiveness in reducing RSV infection risk and improving quality of life in high-risk pediatric populations, including children with Down syndrome.
