Immunological Profile Characterization in Algerian Children with Down Syndrome: A Case Series Study

This study analyzed serum immunoglobulin levels and lymphocyte subpopulations in 33 Algerian children with Down syndrome using nephelometry and flow cytometry, comparing results to 40 combined immunodeficiency patients. Children with Down syndrome showed T- and B-cell lymphopenia with generally normal immunoglobulin levels, presenting milder lymphopenia patterns compared to immunodeficiency controls.
