This study describes an adapted protocol for communicating amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) imaging results to adults with Down syndrome and their caregivers in an understandable and sensitive manner. The research addresses the unique communication challenges when disclosing neuroimaging findings related to Alzheimer's disease risk to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
