Cardiovascular complications in children with Down syndrome and sleep-disordered breathing: A scoping review

This systematic scoping review of 7 studies examined cardiovascular outcomes in children with Down syndrome and sleep-disordered breathing, finding evidence of autonomic dysfunction, impaired blood pressure regulation, and early cardiac structural changes. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive cardiac monitoring and physiologic assessment beyond standard sleep apnea metrics in this population.
