Co-Morbid ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder Associated With Greater Risk for Maladaptive Eating Behaviors in Children and Adolescents
This study analyzed data from 64,691 U.S. children and adolescents to examine relationships between ADHD, ASD, and comorbid ADHD-ASD with disordered eating behaviors. Results showed that both conditions independently increased odds of maladaptive eating patterns (restrictive eating and emotional overeating), with comorbid presentation conferring additional risk compared to either condition alone.
