Systemic oxidative stress in children and adolescents with ADHD: a meta-analysis of oxidative and antioxidant biomarkers

This meta-analysis of 20 studies (2,597 participants) examined oxidative stress and antioxidant biomarkers in children and adolescents with ADHD compared to healthy controls. Results showed ADHD patients had significantly elevated blood levels of total oxidant status and other markers of oxidative stress, suggesting oxidative imbalance may be implicated in ADHD pathophysiology.
