Impacts of Climate Change and Adverse Weather on Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury: A Narrative Review

StudiuLeziuni medulareÎncredere înaltă

This systematic narrative review examines how climate change and extreme weather events disproportionately affect individuals with spinal cord injury through physiological vulnerabilities (autonomic dysregulation), physical barriers to evacuation and healthcare access, and psychological impacts like anxiety. The review identifies a critical gap between perceived and actual preparedness for climate disasters among SCI populations, alongside systemic inequities in disability-inclusive climate adaptation policies globally.
