A cross-sectional study of 122 first-time caregivers of individuals with paraplegia or tetraplegia found a strong positive correlation between caregiver preparedness and competence, with higher education and professional training associated with better outcomes. The research emphasizes the critical role of structured, individualized caregiver education and rehabilitation nursing interventions in reducing care burden and improving competence for managing transfers and other caregiving tasks.
