Associations Between Familial Factors and Emotion Regulation Among Preadolescents with ADHD: An ABCD Study
This study examined how family dynamics (parental emotion regulation, warmth, and conflict) influence emotion regulation in preadolescents with ADHD using data from 953 ADHD-diagnosed youth and 4,371 peers. Results found that parental emotion regulation deficits posed the greatest risk for emotion regulation challenges in children with ADHD, while family warmth was protective and family conflict was harmful across all youth.
