Methylphenidate treatment in adults with comorbid ADHD and borderline personality disorder: a prospective longitudinal study
This prospective study examined methylphenidate effects on 36 adults with both ADHD and borderline personality disorder over 3.9-12.3 months. Treatment was associated with significant reductions in BPD diagnostic criteria, with 19 participants no longer meeting BPD threshold and 10 achieving remission, though baseline anger dysregulation and mood stabilizer use predicted better outcomes.
