Shortened Cortical Silent Period in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
This study used transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to measure cortical silent period (CSP) duration as a potential ADHD biomarker in 79 children with ADHD and 96 controls aged 8-12 years. Children with ADHD showed 32% shorter CSP duration, correlating with symptom severity and motor thresholds, suggesting TMS-evoked CSP may help identify neurophysiological differences in ADHD subtypes and treatment responses.
