Inhibitory processes in people with Williams syndrome and Down syndrome

This study compared inhibitory control mechanisms across cognitive and motor domains in individuals with Williams syndrome and Down syndrome versus typically developing controls using standardized tasks. Findings show differential impairment profiles in inhibitory processes between the two syndromes, with Williams syndrome showing greater interference susceptibility on the Day-Night task, informing understanding of executive function deficits in these neurodevelopmental disorders.
