Functional Independence Related to Oral Hygiene and Periodontal Status in Patients With Down Syndrome

StudiuSindrom DownÎncredere bună

This cross-sectional study of 49 patients with Down syndrome examined relationships between functional independence, oral hygiene habits, and periodontal health. Results showed that greater functional independence correlated with better periodontal status, and oral hygiene guidance increased daily brushing frequency, suggesting that developing self-care skills may improve oral health outcomes in this population.
