Clinical Features of Hidradenitis Suppurativa in Down Syndrome Patients: A Multicenter Spanish Study

This multicenter observational study examined 69 patients with both Down syndrome and hidradenitis suppurativa (a chronic inflammatory skin condition), finding disease onset typically around age 15 and diagnosis by age 20, with groin and axilla as most common sites. The inflammatory phenotype was associated with higher rates of hypertension, dyslipidemia, hypothyroidism, and cardiovascular disease compared to other phenotypes.
